Our Staff

BBMS is proud to have qualified, responsive, and well trained Educators who support families in their role as primary caregivers, and understand the needs of each child as an individual. Each classroom is directed by one Montessori certified, one Registered Early Childhood educator and one assistant teachers with ECA or Montessori Assistant teacher training. All our staff are trained with standard first aid and C.P.R. (level C) and are required to get their police reference check and have an updated immunization record upon starting their work.

Programs

Our toddler program is for children 18 Months to 2.5 years of age. The Program offers our youngest students an opportunity to explore the Montessori preliminary activities in the practical life, sensorial, language and culture areas of the classroom. Accompanied by two hours of gross motor activities (Gym or outdoor play time), French and Music as well as creative arts and crafts, this program is designed to meet the specific needs of an active toddler.

The Casa Program is offered to children between the ages of 2.5 to 6 years old.
The children will be working in the following five areas:
1. Practical Life Exercises
2. Sensorial Exercises
3. Mathematics
4. Language
5. Culture
Two hours of outdoor play time, French and Music are included in the program.
This program has a 1:8 teacher to student ratio.

I visited many daycares and immediately had a good feeling when I walked into Blue Butterfly. I immediately noticed that the premises and students were exceptionally clean. A lot of thought had gone into making the space child friendly and promoting autonomous behavior. There was an outdoor playground and an excellent indoor playground filled with toys to encourage mobility. Both the directors genuinely care for children and their staff. They are very professional in their interactions with parents and children. I should also note that both have their own children at the school which is a sign that they are creating an environment that they want their own children to be in. The staff are exceptional. My daughter’s teachers, Ms. Lisby, Ms. Lori, Ms. Nicolette and Ms. Maimai are knowledgeable, patient, structured and very loving. I have complete peace of mind knowing that my daughter is in good hands. The students at Blue Butterfly benefit from a learning environment that teaches them new skills, focus, independent work and persistence- all skills they will need in their future academic endeavors. They also enjoy Music, French and baby yoga classes. I am a teacher and know how hit and miss finding an effective school and teacher can be. I am going to pay for the extra year and keep my daughter at Blue Butterfly instead of sending her to full day kindergarten!

Enrollment Process
Book an appointment for our open house (416-479-0202) in order to get a tour of our school with your child. We will provide you with an application form. Once we receive the completed application form, your child’s name will be on our waiting list. Upon having an adequate spot available for your child you will be contacted in order to collect the enrollment package. Next would be returning the enrollmrent package to school along with all the documents needed. Upon acceptance, we will be delighted to welcome your child to Blue Butterfly Montessori School.
